The AW18 collection is based around the idea of how love has been portrayed in pop culture and the arts. A Cantonese pop song ‘Under the Mount Fuji’ and photography of Chole Sheppard inspired the illustrated embroideries of this collection. A Kpop song ‘Gashina’, refers to both thorns on a flower and a farewell statement made to the departed, stating she is going to live like a flower. Also inspired by Elizabeth Bennet in Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice.
Lace, tweed, jacquard, corduroy, sheers over tailoring fabrics. Continuing to explore cuts that enable women to feel free and assured. Pieces range from a double breasted coat and jacket to knit and woven separates to soft tailored pieces.
